Crowd of 300 Pokemon Go players blasted with water bombs and police called by furious residents

A group of 300 Pokemon Go players were pelted with water bombs in Sydney, Australia’s inner-west, after nearby residents grew tired of the gamers congregating outside their apartment buildings late into the night.

Ughhh, I'm reading the comments from the Pokemon Go players that were there, completely ignorant of their own behaviour affecting others.

I drove by a historical site which is an old house (one of the first in the city) on the way home that I know has 2-3 pokeposts there and normally people picnic because it's a nice area and along a creek. Only now was about a dozen people standing staring at their phones. I play Pokemon Go, but I'm not going to wander all over to get them, they appear often enough while sitting at work.

The app is okay at best. I mean it is cool, but i'd rather play any of the full games over this app. The game is fun at times on a walk with a few friends, but it isn't really that special, as the fighting system sucks and the constant "GPS signal not found" message I get after 10 minutes of playing and barely connecting in general or only getting a pidgey's/ rattata's when I do connect. People who go into cemeteries and shit just to catch pokemon are disrespectful.

This whole Pokemon go popularity phenomenon is quite intruguing. Its either the result of brilliant marketing, or its something else entirely that's driving the game to be such a hot topic/fad.

With all the zombies of unaware people walking around completely absorbed into their smartphones with this game, it just seems strange. Its almost like something out of the twilight zone.

this game could well cause a very big disaster since its a method to cause people to congregate in an area. Terrorists could use this to set up an effective explosive vest attack by using in-game features in dropping a lure near a pokestop.

Not really a need to drop lures. Most large areas of population have lures up almost 24x7. Went downtown to get some food last night, lures everywhere.
