Eurogamer: "It's another big week for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, with plenty of news for us to discuss in the latest Eurogamer next-gen news cast!"
Days Gone director claims Sony has already poured in at least a $250M in Bend's project; says Days Gone sold more than Death Stranding.
Well that sucks. Seems they want more online trash. I'd rather of had the sequel if it was single player
It would be a shame if it was true that Hermen never gave the franchise a chance simply because he didn't like it and they already had a "Zombie" game with TLOU.
NaughtyDog are most likely moving onto a new IP next so it would have been the perfect time to do it.
Oh great so we only get what the big wigs want… y’know, the people that really have their fingers on the pulse of what their consumers want. Faaaaantastic!
Sand Land Review - Akira Toriyama's two decade old manga has received new life with a recent anime adaptation and now a video game as well.
Frame generation technology has arrived on consoles, amplifying frame-rates and potentially transforming experiences.
Impressive results... sadly I don't have a 120hz display. I was thinking this technique could increase fps on any game that supports it regardless of the display.
Now I've extensively tried it I'm not too fussed about 120 fps. Give me a locked 60 and more details and I'm more than happy
I've said this again and again. Single Player gaming is done by the majority of gamers on PlayStation. Most Sony in-house games are single player. Most gamers don't subscribe to PS Plus on PlayStation. Other companies wish this wasn't so so that they can sell you the rest of the game and monetize you. Skins and equipment that take up no space on a Blu-ray disc or digital. Drip feeding content through artificial grinding and fetch quests and through competition.
Sony is just giving the majority of gamers( single player gamers) what they want. More single player games. I think what most of these companies don't get is that the PlayStation base is skewed towards older gamers that have less time in keeping up with matches online. Gamers who grew up on single player games like Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man, Castlevania, Super Mario Bros, etc. And multiplayer in some games besides sports. But those games had cooperative modes where you played together on the couch like Double Dragon, Contra, Turtles, Final Fight, Streets of Rage, etc. Online games are pushed as competitive games like sports. And time consuming gameplay. Instead of playing together, it's playing against each other. A lot of gamers don't care for that. They play just as well as anyone else. But have nothing to prove. They just want to enjoy playing. If more online games pushed cooperative play like couch gaming back in the day, you might see more gamers online. Competition is fine. But it doesn't have to be almost all the time.
Sony is just feeding what sells for them. And It's working. Because I want more of it. And they said they want to make more of it. That's a win win.
Maybe but I hope not. In theory I'm OK with the idea of jumping to objectives, but they should deactivate trophies/achievements. Maybe have another type for when you get it that way? Call it "Millennial Trophy." We're going to give you something because you feel entitled, but we both know you didn't earn it.
@ Apocalypse...... Well clearly Nintendo bread and butter is also in single player and Nintendo more than anyone has relied on single player games. They didn't even have a true online till the switch and even thats half baked. Nintendo relies on single player more than Sony. Were I think Sony has excelled is in the different varieties of single player and the more mature nature of them. MS has alot to prove, but with their new studios, hopefully see a return to form.
