I'm amazed that they didn't release "islands" as DLC to GTA V. Like you say, they could've added a few "Caribbean" islands under fake names, new local missions (and a few to fly back for) and charged £20-30 to all the GTA V owners. It's a lot of work BUT the engines already there and...there's a lot of game owners to sell it to too!
Wouldn't surprise me if that's the model for GTA VI (SP and maybe even MP)...

Grove Street games Does NOT DESERVE another chance!!!!
They famously screwed up the previous GTA ports that just got taken down. FYI those previous ports where shitty mobile ports they reported again to console.

Zero love or care for original games, slap dash paint job for a quick buck. I have no hope for this DE edition now that this studio thats known for very shabby ports is doing it.

Thanks Taketwo interactive for again being ultra cheap and greedy and having no love for fans or respect for old games.

for $60 these should be absolute stellar ports, not a cobbled together mobile ports with a little higher rez textures.

I did not play any of the GTA game prior to IV. I do own the titles included in this trilogy, on serval platforms, but I just never got around to them. So, I was excited when I heard that the Rockstar was releasing updated versions, because frankly the older games haven't aged that well (from a technical standpoint). Man, am I disappointed in this effort. It's completely underwhelming and seems like a bare bones "remaster" if you can even call it that. Maybe worth a purchase when it goes on sale. Definitely not an impulse buy.

From a technical standpoint? GTA 3 and Vice City's sandbox was and still is absolutely incredible. The traffic, the AI, the physics, everything. For that time period, I remember being floored by the visual fidelity of the environments, and even the "Zombie Elvis Found!" newspaper that would be fluttering around in the wind.

I'm suggesting that the graphics, audio, gameplay, and controls haven't aged well when compared to modern iterations. I can only look at them objectively when compared to current open world games and that comparison makes the originals versions are practically unplayable.

I love the new look! It looks a bit abstract almost. The way they kept the character models intact but added better textures and animations, etc. It almost looks like some Double Fine-style character design here the way its presented with the exaggerated, plastic/bendy look. I was not expecting this big of an upgrade! Anyone complaining about the new look maybe needs to watch on a bigger screen with a good connection, cuz it looks great!

Actually impressed by this big improvement with lighting, draw distance, atmospheric conditions, texture, character models. All while still holding the character and feel of the originals. The kid in me just wishes they would release all the maps on one big exploitable world.

How long are we going to allow these companies to do this? They've been recycling all the same content for years now. Bethesda, Rockstar, Activision, and Nintendo all repackage old IPs to resale as new. At least REMAKE the games but these are simply copy and paste. Where's Skyrim 6, GTA 6, Something besides COD, and where's Prime 4? People keep buying they'll never cater to what the community really wants, NEW EXPERIENCES.

It's better to have an experience like Demon Souls, Crash, Spyro, Shadow of the Collossus, Resident Evil, Metal Gear(GC), etc. With this, at least we'll see some actual effort is put into the game other than increasing resolution.

Hey, but if you're okay with being shoveled the same game over and over, so be it. All those GTAs came out before 2005, Skyrim released in 2011, GTA5 released in 2013, it is about to be 2022. It'd be better if these games were offered along side of the new games instead of just attempting to keep cashing yet again. You have to desire more to actually get it though. To each their own.

My old memory with vc map is 2 main roads and the rest are just alleys , too simple for ripping your vehicle to move your @ quickly and ride another one.

So after 8 years, instead of a new GTA, we get this re-release of ancient entries in the series.......with all the lack of scope and scale and gameplay diversity of the latest ( 8 fucking year old ) entry and people are creaming themselves. It's like being excited to play a remaster of the original Doom including all the limitations with regards to map size/complexity, enemy variety, restrictive movement, etc after having played Doom Eternal.......I mean who the hell would find that appealing? It looks like Rockstar has no desire to or intention of advancing GTA as a series. No, they would rather recycle GTA V for like the 4th time, coast by on all that easy online cash and now even digging up these 3 titles from the grave and present them with a new coat of paint to fans as some kind of accomplishment. Sorry, but the only reason for this 'effort' from Rockstar is to serve as a lazy cash grab and I for one will not be rewarding them for this. I would like to think most people have the brains and the standards not pay money for this, but I know that is wishful thinking. How are these 3 games going to provide any kind of enjoyment considering how subsequent entries were improved upon in every aspect by leaps and bounds. These aren't some retro Nintendo or Sega games we are talkin about. The whole appeal of the GTA games is the convincing illusion that you are in a believable simulation of the real world and yes, at the time of each release they were the most realistic convincing worlds possible at the time. This does not hold true at all for any of these 3 anymore, so that whole aspect is lost and it will take you maybe 5 minutes to realise that CJ and his BMX aren't nearly as thrilling as you remember. I just don't get it.....to me it's a slap in the face. Hey man, don't get me wrong I also have very fond memories of all 3 and it's that nostalgia that they are trying to monetise that doesn't sit well with me. For sure they are not the only ones that do this and I can't stand it when other companies do it either. There are also some games that I would like to see remade such as the Soul Reaver series.....my biggest issue with this is that we are getting this INSTEAD of a new GTA. I mean you can't tell me that the mighty Rockstar couldn't have made a new GTA in 8 years. Of course they could but instead we have GTA V getting the Skyrim treatment. In the past they also created awesome dlc content for the single player but can't even be bothered with that anymore because online is where the money is at. I suppose this re-relase is just more confirmation to me that the Rockstar that made these very same 3 games all those years ago is no more and is changing into another Activision or EA whose primary focus is more about making easy money than creating benchmark new titles. Even RDR2 to me, although a technical masterpiece ( rivalled only by the amount of effort put into it's online microtransaction fest ), lacked the magic of the first one. So not really angry to be honest.....just disappointed.
