GTA VI Gameplay Videos and Screenshots Leak Online

A significant leak for GTA VI has been posted on the GTA Forums website and shared on Reddit revealing gameplay videos and screenshots.

This is 100% legit, there are so many videos right now being leaked it's insane. Cannot believe this is our real first look into this game. Someone's definitely getting fired.

Even some of the conversations mentioned previous GTA characters from number five.

Apparently a hacker has the source code of an old build of GTA 6 so that is the footage you see. This doesn't mean the game will look just like this.
But if this is actually true that means bad news for Rockstar and for us gamers. There is already talk of a delay for the game because of the hack while there wasn't even a release date yet.

Woah, GTA VI leak! I CAN'T CONFIRM if this is legit or a very intelligent hoax, however unlike those Unreal Engine 5 mods for old GTA games that look beautiful but soulless - this looks legit. Rather than purely realistic, there is that GTA slight cartoon aesthetic. Clearly the character models are temporary (the cashier looks like a mannequin), and the programming instructions look to me as a layman, real, maybe. The leaks mentioned a Latina protagonist and the voice acting is good as it sounds believable. That tense music and the control instructions when the player gets in the car suggest this could be the opening level, similar to Michael De Santa's in GTA V. And how the characters and vehicles move behave exactly like GTA so if it is a hoax the programmer is probably using the same old GTA V code, and if it is real Rockstar is using the same old GTA V code! Either way, my body is ready.

Maybe it's real, but the game looks totally unfinished though. Early stages of development and concepts still being worked out. The final game might look totally different.

While we can't expect it to represent the final content i doubt there will be drastic changes. This looks just like GTA 5 but with slightly upgraded graphics. The animations and AI looks almost the same as GTA 5 like they just copy and pasted and didn't improve on much. One of the vids show it was running on a 3080 so this build was within the last 2 years. Waited 10+ years when we could of just gotten an Single player expansion and ran mods and got the same experience.

Apocalypse, No. those aren't the same words, sorry my dude. it being "their fault" and "deserving it" are two different things. just because someone does something stupid, doesn't mean that its justified that something bad happens to them. its an important distinction in this case, as Foxtrot wasn't saying that he doesn't feel sympathy towards rockstar. he was stating, as he reiterated plainly in the first post, he wasn't "surprised this didn't happen sooner". I have to agree, btw. these games are hugely popular, probably the MOST popular, and the temptation to leak them must be extraordinary.

I haven’t looked figured I’d wait for the official trailer (whenever that is) but I’ve been reading comments on YT, and some seem to be at least impressed with the physics and what’s there to some degree with the visuals.

Very bad way to see GTA6 for the first time. I understand it’s still in development and this is rough outline of the game… but it falls in line of my worries releasing a game over a decade later with different people in the development chairs….

IMO (understand rough build), it looks like shit and I can’t tell the difference between this and 5. In some aspects it looks worse of course. I wish my first exposure was from a trailer that showed me new things and what to be excited for.

But from what you’ve said to me, I don’t think your opinion is a bad one or your view on the footage leaked shows you showing hate (as of one just being a hater) but that’s just my perspective of your comment. I again, appreciate your thoughts, but regardless, don’t let downvotes bother you, just like upvotes, people agree and disagree with us everyday, and life goes on, it’s all good, man!

To answer your question, as I’ve still not watched the footage, reading opinions from so many people, it still makes me want to get the game, because certain aspects that some have gone into detail over (specifically in YT comments) has me really intrigued and excited about what’s to come from this game and the detail that Rockstar’s apparently going for in this game. I did watch a guy explain (without showing footage) some of the details to a good length and that too had me excited, but not enough to watch the actual footage.

I understand your issues with Rockstar, Take Two and the industry at large, with their money grabbing/shady techniques to exploit online within GTA 5 etc. it’s disgusting, and shows their mindsets. However, I’d also point out and argue that even with the success of GTA 5 from 2013, the Remaster for PS4 in 2014 or 2015 (whenever that was) to RDR2’s release, they still crafted an incredible SP game, a masterpiece in storytelling (although not much freedom in the way you can tackle missions and you’re punished, which sucks, here’s hoping that’s improved upon in GTA6) but nonetheless, they still delivered with that game! Looking at GTA6 now, knowing many have left (big heads or whatever since RDR2’s release) I still have some faith in what GTA6 can be, and don’t believe that all goes away because of those people gone or their disgusting focus on GTA 5’a online etc.

Only time will tell what happens with GTA6 now, with this leak, the core story and how they approach the heart of this beloved franchise, which hopefully won’t pull back to appease people who don’t even play GTA but also those easily offended, and GTA6 will deliver as incredible and evolutionary and revolutionary game/open world experience to gamers as we’ve all been waiting for for almost a decade now.

Gotta keep hype levels realistic.

Yeah, I can understand most peoples hype (as expected) would be so through the roof, after the insanely long wait for GTA6 anything, really, that a glimpse of footage would just make you feel like a kid on Christmas morning again (well those who aren’t kids lol) but yeah.

I’ve waited this long for Rockstar to release footage, I can wait a bit longer. Here’s hoping this leak (assuming it’s real) will speed up the process, and that there’s something they’ve got to show and want to show. Not that NOW they must or feel obligated to show it off because of this.

From the dialogue they seem to be a couple. So you're not buying property separately. And in some of the videos the guy, Jason, picks up money and ammo, and it gets split between Jason and Shared. So it seems to be done in a way where the characters aren't entirely separated.

The footage has either fooled me or does look legit. It's still early I imagine much more work will go into graphics and animations as the sneaking and a few other animations actually look like a copy and paste from v (not unusual I guess many other devs do this in early builds,).

I still can't help but be a little underwhelmed at the modern day vice city it just looks like Florida swaps far from the glitz of the vice city strip and the 80s vibe I don't know how a modern day vice city will feel tbh because it's so synonymous with the 80s in my mind.

But I really hope it turns out great and the focus isn't online this time

Sucks that Rockstar wasn’t able to polish something up and show it in a first reveal. This either means we’ll get a rushed first official look to re-grab control of the narrative or the first look is even further out not dissimilar to how FromSoft handled leaks. Either way, hoping for a great experience in the final product. Lighting looks good early on

It’s 9 years since GTA5 first released. Yeah, it sucks for the hard-working devs that they now lose temporary control of the narrative, and everyone understands the footage here is still a very early build on outdated hardware, but at the same time they could have been a bit more open about where they are and what they’re doing.

We’ll see where this goes from now, but I believe they were already planning to tease/show us something before the end of this year anyway.

Agree with everything you said except them being more open. Technically, they only just recently announced this game is real, whether or not we believe the game was always coming. Do they have an obligation to keep us posted on their work this early on? Or at any point? It should be up to the devs what they share and when they share it IMO. Yes. They may have milked GTA 5. But gamers also spent their money and continued to spend their money on it. Somebody liked it that it kept afloat like it has. I still don't own the game. I would be a new buyer. But I'm waiting to see if it hits VR. If not, I'll get it on PS5.

I actually enjoy the car handling, it’s got a arcadey feel I like, but just enough precision you can do tight manoeuvres.

I can totally understand how someone might not like it the same though.

The gunplay is I think objectively pretty poor. That’s why the lock on is such a rockstar staple. Red dead 2 was a little better but not as good as I’d hoped.

Some people here will think I’m crazy but I actually played through gta v on the ps4 in first person and then rd2 as well. I really enjoyed experiencing it that way. Do all my driving in fp also. It’d be great if they really worked on the fp shooting and got it feeling perfect.

Unless there's something truly spectacular differentiating this game, I think Rockstar will really struggle to innovate like they have done in the past.

The two big ones would be multiple time jumps -- between 1950s, 1980s and 2022...that would be amazing and groundbreaking.

And also unprecedented amounts of enterable buildings. I think this is way cooler than multiple cities which are mostly just theme parks -- visual with no real interaction.

Also -- since the "Bonnie and Clyde" rumour is apparently true, that means we should expect the other parts of that leak to be true also, namely the fact that Rockstar is no longer going to put edgy satirical humour in the game (they said they "won't punch down" to marginalised groups). This is massively disappointing because I really enjoyed the irreverent satirical humour GTA had.
