Rumor: PSVR2 Manual Images Leak Online

There are PSVR2 manual images floating online now, which looks legit, and gives us some of the device's dimensions and other info.

SullysCigar594d ago

So they've shaved a further 70 grams off the weight.

That's great, as previewers were already complimentary about the weight and comfort.

jznrpg593d ago (Edited 593d ago )

That is one reason I don’t understand why people want wireless headsets . The battery itself would weigh a good amount just to get an hour of wire free play and then you go back to wire anyway. Battery tech isn’t there for it to be lightweight and of course you have the issue of heat on top of it .

In theory wireless is great but the tech isn’t there to make it practical .

excaliburps593d ago

We aren't there yet in terms of tech, I suppose, but if if the battery won't drain as much and won't weigh a ton, wireless would be sweet. We're probably far from it being consumer-friendly though.

WeAreLegion593d ago

The battery for the Vive wireless adapter can be connected to the back of the headset, for counterweight. It can also be put in your pocket or clipped to your belt. It's great!

"The battery for the Vive wireless adapter can be connected to the back of the headset, for counterweight. It can also be put in your pocket or clipped to your belt. It's great!"

That's a good point. And of course Sony can also make a battery and wifi adapter for PS VR2.

S2Killinit593d ago

@Wearelegion
Wouldnt that defeat the point of Wireless as far as not having a wire hanging off of you?

I understand that you are still not tethered, but the wire getting tangled up (not that I find that an issue tbh), and also now you be carrying a battery on you.

Orchard593d ago

@S2Killinit Wouldn’t defeat the point of wireless. Having a wire go from yourself to yourself that can be tucked under a shirt is no where near the same as being tethered to a box (which you definitely don’t want to yank off the TV stand) while trying to move.

One lets you move freely, the other does not.

That is the original PSVR setup. They released a second model in 2018 that was a little easier to set up, but still way more complex than PSVR2.

yeahokwhatever593d ago

nah dude, look at the right side of the photo

TheLigX593d ago (Edited 593d ago )

Lol who leaks manual images?

S2Killinit593d ago

Less weight sounds great. The less you remember that there is a headset on you, the more immersive it is. Im just waiting patiently for release at this point becaise its my number one most anticipated gaming release.

HICK593d ago (Edited 593d ago )

I'm there with you! You should join the PSVR2 Without Parole community of you haven't yet. Great coverage for all things PSVR2 and a great community.

SullysCigar593d ago

I used to love them, but I'm just not feeling it anymore. The community IS great, but there's just WAY too much baggage that has more to do with Bryan's issues than, y'know, PSVR. I'm hoping for some alternative sources for in-depth PSVR2 YouTube fix.

Shughead gaming just relaunched with Ryan from VR Grid. They have good banter and cover all headsets. It's a lot more upbeat than Bryan and they're industry vets, full of knowledge and honest takes. I'm hoping they get more traction.

I think they're operating as VR Grid now.

HICK589d ago

I hear ya about PSVR Without Parole, but for some reason I appreciate the content still. And ya I'll be checking out Shugghead and the relaunch, you're right. I got a notification for it. I guess there's always Polish Paul 🙂. I've seen you around here often, nice to interact with you. Have a good night/day wherever you are.

Sorry but PSVR2 is dead and double dead at any sale price. It was dead before it launched as the "premium" VR scene lost all the AAA developers and now it is all indie mobile phone crap quality software.

State of Play | May 30, 2024

State of Play is back! Tune in live for updates on PS5 and PS VR2 titles, plus a look at PlayStation Studios games arriving later this year.

darthv721d 14h ago (Edited 1d 14h ago )

Im getting a bit of GotG vibes from Concord.

Ragnarok coming September 2024... that's just shy of 2 years since the PS5 release in November 2022.

-Foxtrot1d 14h ago (Edited 1d 14h ago )

I thought exactly the same. If they made it more like the GotG game and it wasn't online focused I'd have been sold instantly.

BISHOP-BRASIL1d 11h ago (Edited 1d 11h ago )

Yup, I was hyped up by the cinematic trailer and immediately put off the moment the gameplay trailer started, that was very high quality and great concept cinematic just for another Overwatch wannabe... Here's hoping they succeed so eventually someday they make an actual campaign focused entry for the franchise, but I'm not holding my breath and I'm definitely not falling for always online crap and FOMO just to follow drip fed cinematic "content".

EDIT: I'm still watching it as I comment... OMG they have another hero shooter, Marvel Rivals, seriously, they missed 2020 or something? For those not into online only and VR games, gotta say, poor show so far...

Profchaos1d 14h ago

Gotg would of been a hit if it released before Avengers was my goty a few years back so I'm intrigued here

RaidenBlack1d 14h ago (Edited 1d 13h ago )

GotG is very underrated and had the unfortunate luck of releasing just after Avengers.
Its really good and more people should play it.

Lightning771d 10h ago

Concord didn't do anything for me personally just another Overwatch mash up with other fps stuff. I mostly popped for Dynasty Warriors for next year. That was my biggest reveal I was genuinely excited for.

No Ghost 2. It's very clear Sony will wait later to Announce the Big Aaa's they don't wanna announce stuff too early and rather announce it closer to release.

darthv721d 14h ago

Maybe its just me but Astrobot looked more R&C inspired than ever.

P_Bomb1d 14h ago

Astro won the show. Looks epic! Huge bosses too like from the PSVR game.

shinoff21831d 13h ago

Astro bot and silent hill 2 remake are what I'm liking out of this.

RaidenBlack1d 14h ago (Edited 1d 13h ago )

Most games appeared good.
Where Winds Meet and Monster Hunter seemed like those needed a bit more polish but that's ok as those aren't releasing anytime soon but I am still kinda worried regarding SH2Remake. Still looks rough and from rear view, James Sunderland looks nearly identical to Leon Kennedy's model from RE4Remake. Hope I am wrong though.
Other games were decent. Even Marvel Rivals.
Ballad of Antara was the highlight for me, followed by Infinity Nikki(purely on the art style alone).
And glad that, Path of Exile 2 is coming to PS5 and Ragnarok is coming to PC!
Behemoth for VR2 also looked really interesting.

PapaBop1d 13h ago

You actually liked Infinity Nikki art style?

PSPSA1d 5h ago

Was my favorite looking game of the show, art style looks amazing

RaidenBlack1d 3h ago

Its not my type of game ...but the design and art style is really well thought out

Lightning771d 10h ago (Edited 1d 10h ago )

Marvel Rivals had a PC invite alpha test a few weeks back and they love the hell out it saying it's an Overwatch killer. I'm definitely down to play and play as my favorite.

STORM. ❄️💨🌊⚡

There's a closed beta in July on consoles but I doubt I'll be able to get in.

InUrFoxHole1d 7h ago

In overwatch 's defense didn't it kill itself?

Michiel19891d 3h ago

they also gave out beta keys where you had to sign an nda not to say anything negative about the game, otherwise you could not play. Don't support stuff like that :) surprised they even showed it here cause it looks terrible and it will fail faster than Artifact
