Famitsu: "Two years have passed since the PlayStation 5 (PS5) was released on November 12, 2020. The PS5 was in a supply shortage due to the release in a situation that had never been experienced before, such as a shortage of semiconductors for the worldwide corona disaster, but the improvement of semiconductor supply and various risks The production situation is improving due to the effects of hedging."
As PlayStation announces its new strategy to encourage PC users to choose PS5 it is a bitter-sweet moment for PC gamers.
I mean, it's a business based on hardware market. Do we expect them to not even try? It's not like Nintendo doesn't do the same by not putting any games on PC and Microsoft until recently did the same. I don't care what they attempt, as long as they don't abuse the community or lie about their goals/requirements.
Will it work? Not likely. Should we care? No. Let them waste their time, it doesn't affect anything.
I wish them the best of luck.
But PC players are often a patient bunch, many will even wait for Epic launcher exclusivity to end until a game comes to Steam.
If they didnt buy the console when its games were exclusive, why would they do it now theyre not?
PC gamers are just too patient and loyal to their gaming set ups, something they've spent a lot of money on to perfect. They have backlogs of games which many never get round to finishing or get round to at all and will always have other multiplatform releases to keep them going.
Over the many years Sony has published so many awesome titles such as The Last of Us, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Infamous, Killzone, LittleBigPlanet, Dreams, Puppeteer, Resistance, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo, Motor Storm, God of War, Horizon, Ratchet and Clank, Spiderman, Ghost of Tsushima, Bloodborne
If none of those games BEFORE all these PC ports convinced a hardcore PC gamer to get a PS5 console then why on Earth would porting them them to PC now make any difference? All PC gamers now know 100% is that they just have to be patient, which they are good at anyway to get a PS5 game 2 years later.
I get GaaS games or multiplayer focused titles but if people really want to play these games they'd have gotten a PS console years ago.
Who cares? Then just stay on PC and play the waiting game. No big deal. Sony wins in the end anyway.
I mean if there's any single player Sony games that I actually want that aren't on PC then I would buy said console to play them on. But the ones that I like that aren't on PC are few and far between anyway so no loss for me.
If I game, it's usually multiplayer titles, otherwise I like playing around with some other software.

The PlayStation VR 2 deal is one of many great PlayStation discounts available until June 12. That said, if you're interested in PSVR 2 but still need to upgrade your console, the are also deals on the PS5 Slim and PS5 Slim digital edition during the PlayStation Days of Play sale.
Sorry but PSVR2 is dead and double dead at any sale price. It was dead before it launched as the "premium" VR scene lost all the AAA developers and now it is all indie mobile phone crap quality software.
I'm glad they're finally able to fix the supply issue in Japan.
Couple of clear points in the article for the gaming community and the naysayers:
*Sony has worked in improving PS5 stock so that gamers can get one. And we have seen the result in increased sales. That's very good. They should continue their efforts. And more games are coming as we see like Spider-Man 2. But they haven't announced them all. They are not going to show all their cards at once.
*PS VR 2 was considered and in development DAY ONE. That's why it looks so complimentary to PS5 in its design and its features. Not an afterthought. PS5 has great features. Dual Sense has great features and PS VR 2 has great features built in. That's not by accident. The only console that's delivering "high fidelity VR." And not promise like others but not deliver.
*PS VR 2 will have great support. RE8 is DAY ONE. And Sony helped Capcom in some fashion. Maybe funding the port. And if you already own RE8, you already own a VR game in your game collection. The DLC is free for owners to update the game. Other games are being ported and are free upgrades. So, if you have a PSVR collection already, some of these games are free to update with improved visuals and controller immersion. It would be nice to have BC. But improved games from developers is better than just having BC. And, we see PS VR 2 will have new IPs at launch and after. And, better ports from Quest 2 and PC as Sony's headset has exclusive features not on any other headset.
*Rounding it out, Sony is making sure PS VR 2 has good supply. Which goes against the naysayers who want to say that Sony didn't sell out of pre-orders or made too many. Meeting demand is their goal going forward.
2023 is potentially looking great for Sony. Hope it pans out.
PS5 here in Japan is still at cheapest 20K JPY above MSRP if you just want to go and pick one up today. Digital Edition at around $500, MSRP is $350. Cheapest disc drive version is at $550 against MSRP of $400. The lottery system has frustrated a lot of people here. The situation has improved just a tiny bit, but it will take another 6-12 months to be able to pick up a PS5 from the store at normal launch prices.
No offense, but being able to just buy a PS5 whenever you want makes it pointless.
There's a reason why Rolex and Nintendo are leaders in their fields of expertise, ensuring that value is always kept at a premium by keeping demand higher than supply.
Pathetic really - if Sony were smart, they'd be buying PS5s from users and selling them as certified pre-owned consoles. That way, they'd ensure the console remains a _premium_ device and protecting users from the grey market.
