It's actually simple. What doesn't inspire confidence is Square allocating their budgets on the wrong projects such as Forspoken, Avengers, Babylons Fall and Foamstars.
Square has always been multiplatform since PS3/360 days which 80 % of their games are. People kick up a fuss over PS exclusivity but not Nintendo which has more exclusive projects console exclusive from Square.

Its the bias what people don't like and it's clear. Every creator should be allowed on make what they want to create no matter what country it was made longs its ok with age ratings. Last of Us 2 Abby woman built like a man having sex is ok, having sex with a bear is ok in Baldur's Gate 3 and censoring a couple of outfits in Stellar Blade is ridiculous these are all R18 rated games.
The buyout of Activision is a double edged sword with COD and they trying to figure out how to recoup the costs. The recession has been a factor as well as management mistakes.

Xbox release wouldn't of helped. I think a PC release day one with it would be a better idea and they still got Sony exclusive money to help them cover things so I think it might not do brilliant but ok enough in the long term. Namco is just milking the same Sword Art Online with lack of budget as well as anime IPs that don't go to decent developers like Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia. Namco deserves their losses and no future Dot Hack or Xenosaga remaster :(.

Glad they both like each others games. One took inspiration and one created it. Yoko said ages ago he was interested in it. I enjoyed the demo of Stellar Blade and really loved Nier Automata. I like them for what they are.

Yeah it was a bad time to release it and they could of waited until at least May and there's just so many games that are coming out. If anything I'm struggling to keep up with finishing Rebirth, P3 Reload and Granblue let alone all the others I want to play.
Sounds exactly what Tales did with Arise. I enjoyed FF16 more than FF13 and FF15 personally. I just hope the next mainline entry Yoshida makes is more party RPG based.
