I don't get game journos that complain on end about how we need different games that aren't "safe", and here it is in Hellblade, and then they step all over it. It's The Order 1886 all over again. I played Hellblade 2 and I love it. It's a unique and engaging experience. I didn't really like the first one, but I do like this. Everyone with gamepass should try it, and while it's definitely not going to be to everyone's taste , it is a worthwhile experien...
This is why xbox is going to get out of the console business and into the streaming business. They've stated from the start that they want to be the Netflix of gaming. I doubt they were aware of the consequences, but it's too late now after their $70 billion dollar acquisition of Activision. Get ready for Microsoft Game Pass available on your smart TV, PC, Playstation, and Switch.
Xbox was the house that Halo built. It should have been a no brainer to put every resource toward making that game the best it can possibly be because games sell systems...and game passes. As the Halo shine has faded, so too has Xbox
One word on when they plan to fix the game on consoles.
What if Gotham Knights was a direct sequel to the Arkhamverse and was a battle for the cowl storyline, but the the traditional fighting mechanics while still being coop optional? What if SSKTJL wasn't set in the Arkhamverse and a wholey elseworlds story? What if this new batman game wasn't just VR cobblygook?
The fact that there's 41 and counting comments all saying the same thing should show Remedy what a huge mistake they made. They left a lot of money on the table.
I love it when these CEOs and the ilk speak about the video game industry. They say the wildest, headscratching rubbish that only seems reasonable to a soulless husk whose myopic pursuit of profit make it seem reasonable to him and him alone.
I plan on waiting for a sale. As for most, games are too expensive at this new and ever rising price point. I'm also still trying to finish Remake so there's no rush. I am new to FF7 and this is the only entry in the series that I truly enjoy. I certainly can see why people hold 7 to be best in class.
Gee...it's almost like a terrible business model would be to have a bunch of devs you own only focus on making GAAS because, by nature, they are going to cannibalize each other. Farwell, Mr. Ryan, we hardly knew ye (as CEO).
This info is not coming from WB, therefore it is pure speculation and considering what a disaster the game has been, it's doubtful it'll last to the end of the year. None of this will matter because the game is currently and literally unplayable on console. Because of the always online requirement there is a login error preventing anyone from even starting the game. Devs have only responded to the issue once saying it was a deep problem so don't expect a fix anytime soon. I'm...
70 Billion dollars for Activision/Blizzard is the single dumbest decision Phil made among a series of them. You're just never going to get that money back. And thank goodness that Sony doesn't have MS kind of wallet because, to be fair, Ryan was making a ton of disastrous moves banking on GAAS, canceling TLOU game, and buying up Bungie, as well. At least Sony management had the good sense to remove him, but the damage was still done. Spencer killed the Xbox, while Ryan merely wounded...
Triple A first party exclusives is how you sell consoles. It's a fairly simple formula made complicated by Corpo bros who have strayed from the path by the lure of infinite growth.
He was with Sony for a long time, but his tenure as CEO was a disaster: the PSVR 2, the Bungie acquisition, pivoting all game development toward GAAS, Naughty Dog canceled GAAS game, etc. I mean, he made nothing but terrible decisions and set Sony up for some hard times in the short term.
I want it to do well, but I just finished Remake and I'm burnt out. I plan on buying it down the line when the price drops. Too many games coming out this month and at nearly a hundred bucks a pop now it's almost always going to be "wait for a sale ".
Easy money would be to remake Resistance and Killzone series, rather than just a remaster. And PS5 desperately needs some couch co-op shooters so this would scratch that itch.
Marvels Avengers already proved that even a GAAS Justice league game wouldn't necessarily be a success just because it featured those characters. No matter what the IP, it still needs an engaging gameplay loop.
That tracks as I've seen a lot of online toxicity while playing. That's typically not a habit of PS5 owners
I believe one of the reasons Helldivers 2 is such a hit is the price tag. Other companies might want to pay attention. It's also a lot easier to expand your audience with a palatable price tag that will make it an easier sell for newcomers to give it a try.
It's all about the subs now with both Sony and MS. This is the real reason creativety is suffering. That's why they invest so much into GAAS that nobody wants. Games need to be online and exclusive to sell those precious subs. What they don't need to be? Good. The likes of Redfall and Concord are just the beginning.
